Brent’s Story: Marathons and Meetings

BrentTrudeau Smallish

Brent, who has a visual impairment, joined Accessible Housing’s Bridge to Home program 18 months ago and has been making healthy, positive changes in his life. Through the program, Brent is now living independently in stable, long-term affordable housing and working towards graduating from the Bridge to Home program this June. On one of his trips in March, he unexpectedly met Prime Minister Trudeau. He was so excited that he immediately sent this photo to his Bridge to Home caseworker, Jen. Just before he graduates the Bridge to Home program, Brent will be walking the 5K in the Calgary Marathon Charity Challenge, with his dedicated caseworker Jen at his side. Setting this huge goal for himself has motivated him to get to the local gym for a daily morning walk on the treadmill to get fit. Inspired by Brent’s story? Us too!
