An Important Message From Accessible Housing

We’re happy to announce that effective February 15, 2019, Dave McElhanney, ICD.D. will assume the role of Interim Executive Director at our organization until the return of Executive Director Michelle Rhode later this year. Dave has been a key lead of Accessible Housing, most recently serving as the Board Chair, and having been a member of the Steering Committee of the RESOLVE Campaign.

Open Doors, Change Lives

For many Calgarians with limited mobility, there are barriers to finding a home that is both affordable and accessible. Some of our residents have experienced homelessness, depression, addictions, isolation and painful health challenges. Having a safe place to call home can change a life for the better. This holiday season, consider giving the gift of home and support. Your donation will open doors and eliminate barriers to independence. By donating, you help people have a home that is safe, secure, affordable and accessible. Give the gift of peace of mind to a family like Barry’s. Give the gift of security and dignity to a person leaving homelessness, like Karen. Give the gift of belonging to a person suffering from isolation and depression, like Virginia. “It all starts with having a place you can call home.” – Barry, Accessible Housing Resident. Thanks for supporting Dinner for Doors

Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated this year’s Dinner for Doors. The evening was a huge success! We are blown away by the generosity of our supporters and with the funds raised, allowing us to support Calgarians with limited mobility so that they can thrive, dream and be part of community in meaningful ways. Many thanks to our generous Platinum Sponsor First Calgary Financial. We are appreciative of their continued support of Accessible Housing. During the evening, we presented three Heart of Community Awards to Sean Crump, Christin Elawny and Nabeel Ramji. We are thrilled to celebrate and recognize these inspiring individuals. Our silent auction raised $10,000 thanks to generous donations from local businesses and community partners. Thank you to each and every contributor to the silent auction! Many thanks to our incredible sponsors: First Calgary (Platinum Sponsor), Onward Integrated Solutions (Silver Sponsor), Dandy Brewing Company (Bar Sponsor), and the Calgary Construction Association (Entertainment Sponsor).
