Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 was a truly a history-making day for Greg McMeekin, an Accessible Housing resident. It was on this day that Greg participated in a ceremony in which he was called to the bar at Calgary Courts Centre. He studied law at Carleton University and articled at Alberta Justice.
Greg was born with cerebral palsy and uses an electric wheelchair to get around. Accessible Housing supports Greg with life’s daily needs, which has allowed him to thrive and pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer.
“I hope this shows the public that if you want to achieve a goal, you can,” says Greg. “It’s not just about me, though — this was definitely a team effort.”
Greg is one of 20 individuals listed on The Calgary Herald’s ‘Compelling Calgarians: 20 people watch in 2017’ and we couldn’t be more proud! Click here to read the full article.
