Dinner for Doors Inspires Generosity

On Thursday November 12th we gathered with community-loving Calgarians for our second Dinner for Doors event. The evening was a huge success, raising $55,000 to help open doors that are accessible and affordable for people with limited mobility. Thank you to our generous guests, sponsors, donors and partners for a wonderful evening!

Our guests spent the evening in a wheelchair, using a walker or were given sight-reducing eye-glasses and oven mitts to simulate some of the challenges our clients with physical limitations face.

Our special guest speaker and home accessibility renovation recipient Edda spoke about the challenges of living with a life-long disability, and the remarkable positive changes happening because her home will soon be safer for her due to a current Accessible Housing RAD Renovations project.

Watch Edda talk about her disability and the changes she’s looking forward to in her life in the short video “Edda’s House”.

Fifteen lucky individuals went home with fantastic raffle prizes, and one lucky guest won a 7-nights stay and flights for two to Oahu Hawaii.

We thank our sponsors for their generosity in helping us open more doors to homes so that everyone belongs in community: BMO – Bank of Montreal, CTV Calgary, Servus Credit Union, Trico Homes, Executive Royal Hotel and trip sponsors Andrew and Anna Trevoy.
