Government of Alberta Partnering With Accessible Housing
Today was a day of celebration, collaboration and inspiration with our community, clients and government. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Government of Alberta is investing $4 million for permanent supportive housing for Calgarians with limited mobility.
Construction of our 45 unit accessible home on the existing residential property of our Fourth Dimension Group Home will kick-off this summer. This home will provide 24-hour, on-site support for adults with physical mobility barriers, such as spinal cord injuries or multiple sclerosis. This will assist in addressing the critical gap of accessible and affordable housing stock in Calgary and decreasing hospital stays, increasing the ability of individuals to engage in their community, work, learn and thrive.
Today’s announcement is a wonderful example of how collaborative partnerships and community working together helps us achieve our vision: everyone has a home and belongs in community.
