Bridge to Home

Housing First Program

Bridge to Home by Accessible Housing

The Bridge to Home is a housing first program focused on recovery.
Over the course of the year, 62 individuals were served in the program.

We work with individuals that have limited mobility and are chronically homeless while following these principles:

  • Immediate access to suitable housing
  • Choice and self-determination
  • Recovery orientation
  • Individualized and client-driven supports
  • Social and Community integration

We move people who experience homelessness into independent and permanent housing as quickly as possible, and then provide them with additional services and supports as needed. This includes rental subsidies and case management, with the focus of meaningful community engagement and supportive relationships.

Accessible Housing’s Bridge to Home Program is funded by the Calgary Homeless Foundation

How You Can Help Support Bridge to Home

When people are exiting homelessness for the first time a restorative home environment is essential for success. Transitioning from homelessness into housing is a life-changing event that improves quality of life however, not having a bed in which to sleep, chairs on which to sit or rest and a table on which to share meals negatively impacts all of our mental, physical, and social health.

With your support, Bridge to Home can provide a sense of normalcy through this life-changing event.
